The latest e-learning module describes the treatment of a 71-year old patient with severe COPD.
Assoc. Prof. of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Cenk Kirakli, and his colleagues treat some 1,200 patients per year in the 29-bed ICU at the Dr. Suat Seren Chest Diseases and Surgery Training Hospital in Izmir, Turkey. In this particular case, the use of INTELLiVENT-ASV with Quick Wean and spontaneous breathing trials (SBTs) reduced the length of mechanical ventilation and allowed the patient to leave the ICU earlier than other COPD patients managed with conventional mechanical ventilation.
