This module presents the clinical case of a highly complex prolonged weaning patient treated with INTELLiVENT-ASV.
The 57-year old male patient was suffering from viral pneumonia with severe ARDS and underwent treatments including intubation, mechanical ventilation, ECMO and various medications. After five weeks of mechanical ventilation, he developed acquired neuromuscular dysfunction syndrome. In this video, the French intensivist Dr. Aude Garnero describes how a special weaning program combined with INTELLiVENT-ASV was implemented and resulted in successful weaning of the patient, who subsequently recovered without muscular or lung sequelae.
